About this timer
Why 60 minutes?

One hour is long enough to make a real dent in hard problems. It's the natural unit of professional work — meetings are an hour, focus blocks should be too. At 60 minutes you have time to warm up, go deep, hit resistance, push through it, and come out the other side with something real. This duration works best for complex tasks: writing a difficult section, debugging a hard problem, or preparing for a presentation. Commit fully or don't start.

Common questions
Is 60 minutes too long for a focus session?
For most people with a developed focus habit, no. But if you're new to intentional focus work, start with 25 or 45 minutes and build up. Attempting 60 minutes before you're ready often leads to abandoning the session halfway.
What should I do during a 60-minute session?
Pick one task only. Write it in the mission field before you start. Switching tasks mid-session undermines the entire point.
How many 60-minute sessions per day is realistic?
Most knowledge workers can sustain 2–4 hours of genuine deep work per day. That means 2–4 sessions maximum, with proper breaks between them.
